Calling all cat lovers!
Enter a picture of your cat quilt, a picture of your cat with a quilt, and/or a cat-related quilt story for a chance to be featured in our new special edition: Quiltfolk Cats!
The time has finally come. Last year, we released our first-ever special interest publication, Quiltfolk Dogs, and readers loved it. Now, at long last (and high demand!), we’re beginning to work on our second special interest publication: Quiltfolk Cats!
And we would like to invite you to send in your cat quilts, cat photos, and/or cat stories! Please read the detailed submission instructions below to learn how.
Quiltfolk Cats is set to release in late 2024.
Enter a Cat Quilt
To enter your cat quilt, please upload up to three high-resolution images (4 MB or larger). The selection process will be made from your submitted images; please do not send us the actual quilt.
Requirements:
The quilt you photograph must be three layers and contain stitching, but all sizes and techniques are welcome (i.e. embellishment, thread painting, appliqué, collage, hand, machine, etc.).
We’re looking for high-quality images that show the quilt as flat as possible. And because final selections will be featured in the magazine, we need images to show the quilt clearly. Quilts photographed at an angle or with extreme folds and/or creases are less likely to be considered.
Enter a Cat Photo
Beyond the quilts themselves, the remaining pages of Quiltfolk’s purr-ty special edition will be filled with images showing how much quilters love their cats, and how much cats love quilts! The paws-ibilities are endless: show us your sweet kitty snuggled up with a favorite quilt or your quilty companion curled up in their special spot in your sewing room.
To enter, please submit up to three high-resolution images (4 MB or larger) of a cat—or cats—near a quilt or in your sewing space. Be creative, and send us that special shot that captures our shared love for our cats and our quilts. Any quilt/cat combination will be considered!
Enter a Cat Story
This issue will feature a handful of moving and inspiring cat-related quilt stories from you, our readers! We’re looking for happy stories, funny stories, and even the sad ones. If you have a story to share about a special cat, don’t furr-get to send it our way.
Please note: the intention is to pick our favorites and have a writer reach out to interview you for this article, so while a well-written story is indeed helpful, it doesn’t have to be print-ready.
